An infrared inspection of your home is a special diagnostic inspection using the latest infrared tools to locate problems in normally difficult to see areas of the house. Infrared cannot see through walls; however pictures can be used to interpret what is behind walls. Thermal images are made from thousands of temperature readings converted into colored dots on a screen; different temperatures will yield different colors. When these images are interpreted by a BPI Certified Thermographer, they can be used to locate water leaks in roofs, sidewalls, windows, doors, foundations, air duct leakage or blockages, overheating electrical problems, missing or poor performing insulation, water pipes, water leaks (which may result in mold growth), air leakage from doors, windows and gaps or holes in walls too small to be normally seen. Infrared is a powerful analysis tool.

An infrared inspection survey when added to a standard visual home inspection would take approximately 45 minutes and would be an additional $100.00 without documentation or pictures or $200.00 with documentation and pictures.
Infrared inspections without a standard home inspection start at $300.00; documentation and pictures and/or additional types of testing are extra.
